Date: 11.07.2022

The Dharmawangsa Jakarta is proud to announce partnership with Waste4Change as the first hospitality company in Jakarta to support responsible waste management.

Based on data from the National Waste Management Information System (SIPSN), Indonesia’s waste stockpile is now reaching more than 28 million tons. According to the Minister of Environment and Forestry,  the nationwide project for waste management is targeted to reduce 30% of waste from sources and process and manage at least 70% of the waste so that it does not accumulate in the landfill by the end of 2025.

This government initiative needs to be supported by different stakeholders and communities, from individual contributions to corporate social responsibilities.

The Dharmawangsa Jakarta as one of the iconic hotels in Jakarta surrounded by verdant landscape and outdoor settings understand the importance of reducing the volume of landfills, air and water pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and preserve natural resources for future use. One of the actions is to partner with Waste4Change to manage the waste responsibly based on systematic, comprehensive waste collection, distribution and the integration of a circular economy to ensure the optimal and efficient utilization of all materials in the industry. The organic waste will be processed as compost and it will be purchased as fertilizer for the garden of The Dharmawangsa Jakarta.
