 Sriwijaya is Set to Introduce its New Flavour

Sriwijaya has been delighted guests for more than a decade since its opening in 1997. It quickly became a culinary destination with atmosphere that evokes the stately tradition of fine dining in Jakarta with its perfect blend selection of Indonesian traditional dishes presented in an elegant way using French technique.

As it moves forward to uphold its high standards and meet the needs of the guests, starting from April 22nd 2019 Sriwijaya will introduce its new flavour showcasing nouvelle cuisine that stressed freshness, lightness, and clarity of flavour. The soft opening period towards the grand opening on July 7th 2019 will be marked by an exclusive series of dining experiences presented by Michelin Star Guest Chef Olivier Oddos from April 22nd to 25th.

Responsible for the innovative and impressive new cuisines are Executive Chef Felix Budisetiawan. Together with his award winning culinary team, they created a menu that is both exciting and distinguished from that of any other option in Jakarta. The renovated menu boasting items such as NZ Mussel Fritters served with green leaves, chili aioli and potato frits, Lobster Platter consists of deep sea lobster, scallops, calamari, octopus, razor clam and mussels served with beurre-blanc sauce, US Porterhouse Steak and Japanese Ribeye Wagyu A5. Guests may also enjoy a selection of favorite classic Sriwijaya dishes such as Salade Gourmand Brie de Meux, Forest Mushroom Risotto and Roasted Turbot.

Divided into 3 dining sections in refreshed look and vibes; main hall, private room and alfresco, Sriwijaya will accommodate maximum 42 diners per session. The restaurant will open from Tuesday to Sunday for lunch from 11.30 AM to 2.30 PM and dinner from 6 PM to 10.30 PM.


“Aman Saji” Certification for The Dharmawangsa Jakarta 

The Dharmawangsa Jakarta is chosen as the only hotel in Indonesia to receive 5 star level of “Aman Saji” certificate. This prestigious certificate is a token of appreciation given by the Association of Indonesian Food Safety Professionals supported by the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency; Ministry of Industry; and the Ministry of Agriculture to individuals or organization in the Food Service sector that shows its commitment to food safety.

The basic requirements for safe food are ownership of health-worthy certificates and work competency certificates in the field of food safety that provide comprehensive guarantees. The certificate was handed on 24 July 2018 by the Vice Governor of the Special Region of the Capital City of Jakarta, Sandiaga Uno.

The Dharmawangsa Jakarta Awarded with ASEAN Green Hotel Standard Award 2018-2020

The Dharmawangsa Jakarta is honored to be awarded with the ASEAN Green Hotel Standard Award period of 2018-2020, in conjunction with its winning in the Indonesia Green Hotel Awards announced on 28 September 2017 in Jakarta – Indonesia. The awarding was held on 26 January 2018 during the “ASEAN Tourism Forum” in Chiang Mai, Thailand and attended by the Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Arief Yahya.

The ASEAN Green Hotel Standard is an ASEAN initiative dedicated to promote sustainable tourism through the adoption of the environmentally-friendly practices and energy conservation in ASEAN Green Hotel practices. This standard deals with essential elements of Green Hotel operations which are environmental plan, green product, human resource and environmental management.

This 1st December, The Dharmawangsa Jakarta marks its 20th year of exemplary service and renowned reputation. Having been known as a hotel that embodies modern Indonesian design and culture, The Dharmawangsa Jakarta has successfully put forward subtle sophistication and elegant intimacy in every aspect of the hotel. In commemorating this momentous occasion, starting from November 20th to December 20th, a series of programs have been designed.

Jakarta Restaurant celebrates Indonesia’s vibrant food culture by presenting 20 selections of Indonesian ancient heritage dishes from various regions specially crafted by Executive Chef Felix Budisetiawan and his award-winning culinary team. To add more excitement, guest can enjoy three for two of lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch buffet.

Throughout the years, Majapahit Lounge has managed to hold outstanding reputation for cocktails which keeps bringing back loyal customers who crave for quality and range of stimulating drinks variety. Three for two of James Bond’s Martini collections and any house pouring drink as well as a lavish afternoon tea with an assortment of 20 Indonesian-inspired delicacies are presented by Majapahit Lounge for this anniversary. Meanwhile the Cake Shop, an ultimate destination for artisan chocolate concoctions and scrumptious cakes and pastries offers additional 20% saving for pastry products after 6 PM.

The Journey to 20th Anniversary room program is valid until 30 December 2017 with 20% saving for F&B and Spa treatment to make the experience even more memorable. As part of the charity program, The Dharmawangsa is committed to giving donation to Yayasan Wisma Cheshire; a residential, vocational training program for adult men and women with mobility disabilities. The donation is taken from sold hotel products during November 20th to December 20th such as Sunday brunch/person, room/stay, cake/slice and coffee/cup.

The Dharmawangsa Jakarta has been Chosen as One of the Winners in Green Hotel Award 2017

The Dharmawangsa Jakarta is pleased to announce its winning at the Green Hotel Award 2017. The awarding was held recently on 28 September 2017 during the “Wonderful Indonesia Tourism Award 2017” and attended by the Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Arief Yahya. Together with four other winners, The Dharmawangsa will represent Indonesia in the ASEAN Green Hotel Award in Chiang Mai, Thailand in January 2018.

Green Hotel Award is held every two years by Deputy of Tourism Destination and Tourism Development of Ministry of Tourism as an appreciation and support to entrepreneurs and hotels who apply the principles of environmentally friendly in order to improve the competitiveness of Indonesia's tourism industry, especially the hospitality industry.

The Sun And Moon Flow Yoga for Charity by YKAI in collaboration with Bimasena and Jagannatha

Bimasena, a private membership club in South Jakarta is supporting Yayasan Kanker Anak Indonesia (YKAI) and Jagannatha for a charity event, The Sun and Moon Flow Yoga on Sunday, October 8th, 2017 at Lobby Lounge of Bimasena at The Dharmawangsa. The program is dedicated to support children with cancer in YKAI to continuously support the organization as part of Bimasena's commitment for giving back to the communities.

The event will take place at Lobby Lounge, starts from 7 AM until 11 AM, that allows participants to join Jagannatha and Yin Yoga by instructor Ms. Uci Wijayanto. The session will be followed by Pranayama (breathing), body opening with Yin method, Hatha Vinyasa Yoga, and Gentle Yin (final relaxing) as closure.

As part of CSR program conducted by Bimasena, A private membership club, the total money earned from the entrance fee will be fully donated to YKAI (The Indonesian Children with Cancer Association).

Our Executive Chef Felix Budisetiawan has been chosen as Editor’s Choice "Chef of the Year" at NOW! Jakarta Best Restaurant, Bar & Cafe Awards Gala Dinner on September 18th 2017. The award was presented for outstanding achievements in the eyes of the Now Jakarta editorial team.

Bringing 30 years of international experience in the hospitality industry, Chef Felix has mastered the world of commercial cookery, where he utilized his talents and skills within various hotel and restaurant chains throughout Asia and USA.

He realized his passion in culinary when he started to help for the family business and carried on as a culinary school student in Nusa Dua, Bali. His expertise expands to the gastronomic arts of traditional and modern Indonesian as well as French cooking style with the simple yet flavorsome and mouthwatering cuisines, with specialization in Indonesian cooking style.

The Dharmawangsa Jakarta Announces New General Manager, Novi Samodro

The Dharmawangsa Jakarta is pleased to announce the promotion of Ms. Novi Samodro as the first Indonesian female General Manager of the five-star luxury hotel in Jakarta, which this year marks its 20th hotel anniversary.

Graduated from Hotel Management Course at College of Canyon in USA and National Hotel Institute of Tourism in Bandung, West Java majoring in Bakery, Pastry Production, Ms. Novi Samodro with her strong passion in Sales & Marketing background, and broad knowledge of the luxury hotel business, has an impressive 25 years experience in some of the prestigious International five star chain hotels such as Four Seasons, Intercontinental, Hilton and Shangri-La before joining The Dharmawangsa as Director of Sales & Marketing in July 2011. Before quickly progressing to Asst. Managing Director in January 2015 and finally celebrating her silver anniversary of her career, she has reached an outstanding performance with her leadership as a new General Manager in August 2017.

Overseeing all aspects of award winning hotel, in her new role and capacity as General Manager of The Dharmawangsa Jakarta, Ms. Samodro will continue to build on the hotel’s reputation with its legendary Indonesian luxury experience where the hotel is inspired by the Indonesian art and culture presented in the modern way of living with personalized service, while maintaining its position amongst the great hotels in Indonesia especially Jakarta. She will be responsible for day to day operations and strategic direction of the hotel.

Ms. Samodro will manage the hotel’s 99 suites, the restaurants and lounges, banquet & meeting facilities including wellness and sport facilities as well as Bimasena Private Club.

She quotes, “In order to appreciate success, one must first experience failure, because failure is often the first path to success and while pursuing their dreams and ambitions, they should never forget to be thankful, joyful and embracing the moment of life to the fullest”.  Ms. Novi Samodro is the eldest of five daughters and happily married with 2 children.
